Danak German Shepherds has been raising quality German Shepherd Dogs for the last 10 years. Our dogs are AKC,
OFA and hip and health guaranteed. Only breeding 1 or 2 litters per year; in the past all puppies were sold before
they were born.
OFA is the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, which by rating hip xrays can tell if hip displesia is a factor for
the parents. There are 3 ratings for OFA on hips, Excellent; Good & Fair. If the parent dogs pass OFA examination
the probablity of the puppy having hip problems is rare. If the dog does not pass OFA there will be no rating.
There is no such thing as a vet being able to tell by looking a dog if his hips are bad or not, always insist on seeing the
OFA papers of the parents.
We have been raising German Shepherds in Florida in the past and have recently moved to the Austin, Texas area.
Loving the German Shepherd Dog and being able to sell a good, quality dog to families has been my goal for years and I was
very successful at this in Florida. I see no reason that a family should pay over $1,000 for a quality German Shepherd
that they want to have for a family pet. A lot of families have been forced to purchase from "Backyard Breeders" whose
only goal is to make money and not breeding quality dogs. This can be heart breaking to a family to learn that at a
young age their beloved family pet has a life threatening disease and must be put down. The family loses a member and
all because someone didn't care that they bred dogs that were healthy.
